Hana Like Home Visitor Program, works to prevent child abuse and neglect by strengthening families “at-risk.” Home Visitor teams in West Honolulu, Windward Oahu, and the Diamond Head area work closely with expectant parents and parents of infants and toddlers to promote optimal child development, providing parenting education, emotional support, and links to resources. Hana Like also houses the Hawaii Coalition for Dads, of which support fathers and foster their positive role in the family. A new initiative that expands the services of the original Healthy Start model is Enhanced Healthy Start, a multi-disciplinary approach to working with families involved with Child Welfare Services.
“Working Together” to strengthen Hawaii’s Families

Hana Like is a program to help parents provide a safe, healthy, nurturing environment for their young children.

Hana Like was the first home visiting program in the state.

Hana Like helps parents learn about their baby’s care and understand how children learn and grow.

Hana Like is a program where parents and Home Visitors work together to promote family wellness. It is also a way to meet, other parents, have fun, and share ideas and experiences.

Both mothers and fathers are encouraged to participate.

A new initiative that expands the original Healthy Start model is Enhanced Healthy Start, a multi-disciplinary approach to working with families involved with Child Welfare Services.
