provides individual and group intervention for victims, perpetrators and child witnesses of domestic violence.
HOW CAN THE FPC OAHU PROGRAM HELP YOU?
The goal of the Family Peace Center-Oahu is to bring
peace to Hawaii's families by offering safety, support, empowerment and accountability to victims/survivors, offenders and children exposed to domestic violence.
The Family Peace Center-Oahu has been conducting domestic violence counseling for over 25 years. Family Peace Center-Oahu provides a comprehensive community-based program that includes prevention and intervention.
WHAT SERVICES DOES THE FPC-OAHU PROGRAM PROVIDE?
The Family Peace Center-Oahu serves all of Oahu, utilizing off site facilities to provide services around the island. FPC-Oahu serves families and individuals through three separate program components:
1. The Puuhonua ("Safe Haven") Victim/Survivor Component
serves victims/survivors of domestic violence through crisis and on-going services. These services include:
• Domestic violence crisis counseling (by phone or in person)
• Legal referrals and support
• Case advocacy
• Safety planning and assistance
• Individual counseling
• Group counseling
The Puuhonua Domestic Violence Crisis Counseling phone line operates from 8:00 am to
7:00 pm Monday-Friday, call 585-7944, (after hours, please call 911 in an emergency)
2. The Haupoa ("To make the ground soft for planting") Family Component
works with children who have exposed to domestic violence and their parents. Services for children and parents include:
• Support/intervention groups for children ages birth to 17 who have been exposed to domestic violence in the home.
• Violence control/intervention groups for children who have acted violently and/or who are at risk for acting violently.
• Support/intervention for teen girls who have experienced dating violence.
• School based individual or group counseling.
• Parenting classes that address positive parenting for children exposed to domestic violence.
3. The Kuleana ("Responsibility") Offenders Component
works with offenders of intimate partner violence, as well as with offenders of non-intimate partner abuse. These services include:
• Domestic violence intervention group or individual counseling
• Violence control groups
Community Education and Training
• The Family Peace Center-Oahu also provides educational presentations for schools, community groups and agencies as well as professional or para-professional training.
• Services are offered in a variety of locations around the island.
Who is the Family Peace Center-Oahu for?
Victims/survivors of domestic violence, offenders of domestic violence and/or children who have been exposed to domestic violence in the family.
Is there a fee?
Fees are on a sliding scale based on income and number of dependents. We do not deny services based on ability to pay

NAMELEHUAPONO WAHINE
A healing group for Native Hawaiian survivors of domestic violence
The Namelehuapono Wahine group supports Native Hawaiian women who have experienced domestic violence in healing from the abuse, through the use of
Hawaiian culture, values, and history. The group model was developed by PACT Family Peace Center in collaboration with Hawaiian cultural experts and kupuna.
